We developed additives giving the secondary function to industrial product by using the nonionic surfactant
which is safe to human body. ts main purposes are an antistatic agent which reduces static, an antifogging agent which removes dew condensation occurred on film surface, a lubricant which improves processing ability of the polymer, a plasticizer which develops flexibility of resin. SAMHO has been trying to develop the new industrial functional formulation by using the safe food additives.
Antifoggant

In agricultural greenhouses, waterdrops are occurred inside film by a sudden temperature change, and you can not be able

to view contents. As a result, adverse effects are occurred such as a reduction of light transmittance and sunshine hours, a defective fruition by waterdrops fall. This phenomenon can be changed by the surface properties of films, and can be improved through the wet phenomenon of the plastic surface.

The surfaces of LDPE, EVA, used as agricultural film, are hydrophobic, so this problem can be solved by making surface hydrophilic using additives.

For this purpose, these additives are known generally as an anti-fogging agent, an antifoggant, and an antihazing agent.

                                      

Reasons of Antifoggant’s Migration

  • Compatibility with antifoggant and resin (affinity/repulsive)
  • Movement of antifoggant molecule and resin molecule
  • Moisture(polarity) content on the film surface
  • Structure, molecular weight and characteristics of antifoggant
  • Characteristics of resin
  • Temperature
  • State of the film surface
